چکیده

Abstract The Esca disease complex includes some of the most important trunk diseases grapevines ( Vitis spp.) and causes serious yield losses in grape production worldwide. However, there has been no detailed study on its presence associated pathogens China. During 2017–2019, a preliminary field survey was conducted eight vineyards Hebei Ningxia provinces, China when unusual foliar symptoms were observed. Symptoms distinct tiger striped leaves, which are typical grapevine leaf stripe (GLSD), one common complex. Tiger-stripe found four vineyards, incidence cultivar dependent varying with vineyard year. A total 266 fungal isolates obtained from wood tissues GLSD. Based morphological characters multigene-combined phylogenetic analyses, Ascomycete Phaeoacremonium minimum , identified. basidiomycete Fomitiporia punicata never reported infecting grapevine, also identified to be rot grapevine. remaining included known pathogens, such as Neofusicoccum species Diaporthe species. Koch’s postulates performed greenhouse, confirming that both F. P. caused interveinal chlorosis necrosis resembled GLSD observed field. present provides first report In addition, this is record results provide new insights into knowledge

Fungi associated with Esca disease of grapevine in Germany

Esca disease of grapevine is gaining increasing importance in Central European wine-growing countries. Several fungi, all of which are wood-inhabiting, were found to be associated with the disease. The taxa thought to act as main causal agents are the basidiomycete, Fomitiporia mediterranea, and, less frequently, the deuteromycetes, Phaeomoniella chlamydospora and Phaeoacremonium aleophilum. In...

first report of phaeoacremonium inflatipes and phaeoacremonium mortoniae associated with grapevine petri disease in iran

petri disease is responsible for grapevine decline and occurs wherever grapevines (vitis vinifera) are cultivated. phaeoacremonium species are among the principal hyphomycetes associated with petri disease. during 2009, a field survey was conducted throughout different vineyards in the fars province of iran in order to determine the fungal pathogens associated with the vine decline observed in ...

Esca (black measles) of grapevine. An overview

More than 100 years ago a grapevine disease of unknown etiology was recognized in France and California, where it was called “folletage” (Ravaz, 1898) and “sunstroke” respectively (Anonymous, 1895). In both cases the disorder was considered to be due to a physiological condition resulting from what was called “abrupt changes in the bottom water level.” Research on the pathological nature of the...

Molecular and phenotypic characterisation of novel Phaeoacremonium species isolated from esca diseased grapevines

Petri disease and esca are very destructive grapevine decline diseases that occur in most countries where grapevine (Vitis vinifera) is cultivated. Phaeoacremonium species are among the principal hyphomycetes associated with symptoms of the two diseases, producing a range of enzymes and phytotoxic metabolites. The present study compared the phylogeny of a global collection of 118 Phaeoacremoniu...
